Terms of Service
Last updated 26 July 2026
These are the terms for using Rostr. Using the service means agreeing to them.
Rostr is a product of High5 Labs, a sole proprietorship based in North Carolina, United States. Rostr is available in the United States only.
What Rostr is
Rostr gives an independent coach a booking page, session packages that keep their own count, and card payments that land in the coach's bank account. Parents book and pay through that page.
Rostr is a tool a coach uses, not a marketplace and not a referee. We do not list, rank, recommend, screen, background-check, or vouch for any coach. There is no directory to browse — a parent reaches a coach's page because that coach sent them the link. The coaching agreement is between the parent and the coach. We are the software in between.
What coaches are responsible for
- Showing up, and the quality and safety of the coaching itself.
- Any licenses, insurance, background checks, or certifications their sport or venue requires.
- Their own cancellation, refund, and no-show rules — Rostr enforces what a coach sets, it does not set them.
- Their own taxes. We are not an employer, and coaches are not our employees or contractors.
What parents are agreeing to
When you book, you are entering an agreement with the coach for that session. You are agreeing to that coach's rules on cancellations and refunds, shown to you when you book. You are also confirming you are an adult who can authorise payment for the child attending.
Money
Card payments are processed by Stripe. Money for a session goes to the coach, not to us.
Coaches pay 0% in platform fees. A parent pays a small flat booking fee at checkout, and standard card processing costs come out of each payment, the same as any card reader. Every amount is shown before a payment is confirmed.
Pricing is not locked. Rostr is early, and fees may change as we learn what works. A founding-coach rate reflects what we charge now, not a rate held for a set period. Changes apply going forward, and the fee on a booking is always shown before that booking is paid for.
Sessions and credits
A package is a count of sessions, not a stored balance of money. When a coach marks a session complete, one credit is used and the parent gets a notice. If something looks wrong, a parent has 48 hours to flag it quietly and the coach sorts it out.
We do not adjudicate whether a session happened. We have no way of knowing, and pretending otherwise would help nobody. Disputes about a session are between the parent and the coach.
Text messages
Rostr sends text messages as part of the service — booking confirmations, session reminders, cancellation and reschedule notices, and completion or credit notices. Coaches also receive texts about their account.
You consent by entering your mobile number, and consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies with how often you book or coach. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop receiving messages and HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Mobile numbers and text-message consent are never sold or shared with third parties for their marketing. See the Privacy Policy.
Using the service properly
Do not use Rostr to break the law, to harass anyone, to take payment for something you have no intention of providing, or to interfere with the service working for everyone else. We may suspend or close an account that does. We would rather email you first, and usually will.
Availability
We work to keep Rostr running, but we do not promise it is never down. Rostr is provided as is, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the past 12 months or 100 US dollars.
That is a real limit, and it is small — it reflects what a small per-booking fee can reasonably carry. It is not an attempt to escape responsibility for our own bad conduct, which the law does not let us disclaim anyway.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top, and say so plainly when a change actually matters.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States.
